Welcome to the
Located in the heart of historic downtown Sparks, Nevada, the Sparks Heritage Museum boasts 4,000 square feet of indoor exhibit space, featuring a permanent gallery that highlights the heritage of Sparks and changing galleries that feature a wide variety of historic, artistic, and cultural themes.
The museum also maintains an outdoor train exhibit and the historic, one-room Glendale Schoolhouse just across the street. Both exhibits are available for tours by museum representatives.
Using displays and artifacts to tell stories, our exhibits connect those in the present with life in the past and provide insights into the rapid changes northern Nevada has undergone throughout its development.

Reflections on the Water: The History of the Sparks Marina
The Sparks Marina is today a beautiful lake which locals enjoy for recreation and relaxation, but that present reality only scratches the surface of the marina’s significance to the people of northern Nevada. The site’s origins are thoroughly intertwined with two prominent events in Sparks’s history; and over the years, it has contributed to the health and development of our entire region in far more than just recreational ways. . . .

Funding to support our organization has been provided by Nevada Humanities through Congress and the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the CARES Act economic stabilization plan of 2020.
