The Sparks Heritage Museum would like to thank the students and staff from SkillsUSA for choosing our location to visit and be the subject of their Television Video Production Contest.
The SkillsUSA scholars put their training to the test in producing a video about the museum on the spot. While split into many groups, the students of the workforce development organization got to work setting up equipment, filming the various exhibits, and interviewing our museum personnel.
As part of the 2026 Nevada SkillsUSA Contest, the student teams were competing with each other to make the best demonstration of the skills they have acquired from the program. Multiple contests took place around Northern Nevada in different subjects to aid the career and technical education of the students taking part.
The Sparks Heritage Museum congratulates the winners of all the contests, especially those who won the contest involving our location as the focal point.

SHM Anniversary: Celebrating 40 Years

The Sparks Heritage Museum is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year! For the past four decades, our museum has served the Sparks and northern Nevada community with a wealth of learning and knowledge about local history; and we intend to continue this tradition well into the future.
