Virtual Lecture Series: A Conversation with Costuming Legend Pete Menefee of “Hello Hollywood Hello!”

As part of the Sparks Heritage Museum’s monthly Virtual Lecture Series, join us in a conversation with three-time Emmy-award-winning costume designer Pete Menefee, whose designs are heavily featured in our most recent pop-up exhibit “When Stars Align: KISS Meets Hello Hollywood, Hello!” Hosted by Christine Johnson, this virtual interview will detail Mr. Menefee’s esteemed career in show business, as well as delve into his history with Hello Hollywood, Hello!, the most dazzling show this region has ever hosted!
Pete Menefee began his career as a dancer, performing in movies from Viva Las Vegas with Elvis and Ann-Margaret to Walt Disney’s Mary Poppins as a chimney sweep. The three Emmy Awards presented to Mr. Menefee include achievements for costume design for the XIX Winter Olympics opening ceremony in 2002, outstanding costume design for the 1980 NBC series The Big Show, and in 1987, the Las Vegas All-Star Special on ABC with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. He worked as a costume designer for Hello Hollywood, Hello! and designed many of the costumes for the show, two of which are currently on display at the Sparks Museum.
