First Saturday Lecture Series Presents Jim Bonar of the Lincoln Highway Association

Jim Bonar, Nevada State Director of the Lincoln Highway Association. The Lincoln Highway Association was responsible for the mapping and definition of the first transcontinental highway across the country and was formed on October 31, 1913. Jim’s presentation will explain how the Association was formed and the evolution of the highway until its demise in 1926.  Jim’s narration along with vintage photos and short films will take you on a tour across the country on the Lincoln Highway.  The program will include a substantial collection of photos and maps of the highway’s paths across Nevada and the Sierra.

Sparks First Saturday Lecture Series features a notable speaker to share insightful information to the local community. These First Saturday Lecture Series are free to attend and open to all inspired to join in each month 2-3:30 pm on the Second Floor of the Sparks Heritage Museum in the Cultural Center.
