First Saturday Lecture Series Presents,

Aspen Trees and Yeast
by Mary Arthur
A glimpse of the past with a promise for tomorrow
Explore a unique partnership (symbiosis) of over 80,000 years

Saturday  April 7th
2pm. ~ 4pm

We will explore and combine the intertwined biology of two separate entities, brought together with the common goal of surviving in an often brutal environment.

What was once a sustainable Eco system; saved only recently from extinction, is now being threatened again. Safe and humane harvesting of wild yeasts and tree parts will be explored and demonstrated with the purpose of maintaining the source of not only a natural leavening for food products but a source of a valuable and affordable source of a natural pain killer.

This lecture series will demonstrate the value of these trees once labeled as pest by the foresters and timber industries.

Mary Arthur is a renowned Western Historian, Nutritional Alchemist and Wild Crafter with a goal towards promoting preservation of sustainable forest products, often over looked in modern times.
