Come celebrate Nevada Day at Sparks Museum while learning about the history, environment and arts of our state. Instructor Eve Allen will teach participants movement theory connected with Nevada-themed maps, artwork, music and poetry.

The Choreography Workshop will be a three day intensive aimed for ages 12 and up and will result in the creation of a work based on Nevada culture. All levels are welcome, no prior experience in dance or choreography is required. Recommended to those attending Choreography Workshop to attend Creative Movement Drop-in session. Students in the workshop will learn basic elements of composition and workshop culminates with an informal performance opportunity to show friends and family their creations.

About the instructor Eve Allen:

Eve Allen received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a dance minor from the University of Nevada, Reno and her Masters of Fine Arts in ballet from the University of Utah. Eve is a Ballet Lecturer with the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Eve is a dancer, dance educator and choreographer in Reno, NV. She is the founder and director of the Downtown Dance Collective (DDC). DDC is a collaborative dance organization that aims to bring together local talent and present accessible performances to our community. Allen performs locally with A.V.A. Ballet Theatre, Belle Contemporary Dance Company, and Rosie Trump | With or Without Dance. She has choreographed for Municipal Ballet Co. in Salt Lake City, the Nevada Opera, Sierra Nevada Ballet, and the University of Nevada, Reno.

Eve is an active member of the Royal Academy of Dance and teaches syllabus classes for all levels at The Conservatory of Movement. She is a registered teaching artist for the Nevada Arts Council and the Sierra Arts Foundation and utilizes the Kennedy Center’s definition of arts integration in her classes at Lincoln Park Elementary School in Sparks, NV.
